Meet the Owner
Eric Sparkes, a midlands native, founded ECS Construction in 2012. As far back as he can remember, he had tools in his hand, considering construction second nature. After graduating high school, Eric joined the Army Reserves where he served our Country for 3 years. Once he returned to Columbia, he began a career as a commercial superintendent and built multifamily apartment communities around the southeast. He would stay in this job for 7 years before starting his own company. While working as a superintendent, Eric decided to tackle his college degree. He would focus on work during the day and schooling at night. He started his college education in 2010 and proudly graduated with a Business Management degree in 2015. Eric and his wife, Meg, have 2 sons, Ford and Boone. In the spring of 2023, they welcomed a new member, Addie. They currently reside in the Forest Acres area. When Eric isn’t working, you can find him on a trail in the woods on his dirt bike, on a mountain bike at Harbison or on a boat at Lake Murray. Eric thoroughly enjoys the outdoors.
